Topic: Monstra and the future

As much as I am enjoying working with Monstra there is no apparent movement on the project itself.
I'm sure most have seen the twitter post: https://twitter.com/monstra_cms/status/ … 9970674688
I hope that Awilum will return in the not too distant future and guide the project on.

In the mean time I am curious what people are wanting?

  • I have seen mention of the login script and think this could be updated to use your email address as well as a case insensitive user name.

  • Multi level menus has been mentioned

  • Block/ snippet groups/ folders

  • Settings in plugins

  • File manager improvement such as thumbnails, sorting

Hi mate, from what i have seen it seems Monstra is active thanks to all of us... Members must be busy but i belive that development will go on and new versions will come up. I have been making new versions based on 3.0.1. However, we could make contributions to community in order to push the development further on.

@wormsunited

Agreed. My intent was / is to see what people are wanting so that contributors can action or at least there is some direction for Awilum and team when things are "officially" moving again.

I've got lots of plugins / Monstra tweaks in my someday planner not least of which is a reworking of pages so that there are specify content areas that can be modified inline by an editor rather than whole page editing, removing potential of template damage, keeping things harmonious and stopping editors going crazy... after all it often just a bit of text or image that needs changed.

But I think I'll make some core tweaks including plugin settings and logins first.
After that i'd quite like Routing so that a path can be re-routed/ tinyurl-ed

I've also been thinking about a new theme something along the lines of:
http://bootflat.github.io/documentation.html or http://fezvrasta.github.io/bootstrap-material-design/

I agree with the Development of monstra I have been watching the github and feel that Pull Requests and Issues are increasing with no administration to clear, fix or pull.

Hi RomanArt

Thank you for posting a response about the @Awilum and the trouble position his country is in.

It is a very said thing that what is going on in Ukraine and hope all ends very soon.

I have been reading up on the business aspect of Ukraine and how this War is effecting businesses, Mostly talks on how companies are running unaffected other then having to ask the staff to stay.

That been said i looked up on Awilum twitter account and see activity on hotels, mountain biking and go karting. (Hmm that doesn't seem to be right for a war/Hostile take over.)

https://twitter.com/AwilumIT

I'm not asking him to stop doing all of those awesome things I'm merely saying that Monstra has grown to something larger than a one man project and needs help.

Allowing admins into the github repo to help read and reply to issues, and also to go over pull request. This will help the project greatly to progress forward.
Awilum would merely have to added someone he trusts to do this job.

Re: Monstra and the future

Ya i know wht u mean, usually he never does work  and codding like nerd, before war his work was at home than at free time he did sporty stuff and after that develop monstra,
but since he had to move out of his country to another his work takes too much time, he has only left some small time for sport , i would not traid health for coding as well.
Got to wait till he stabilize and than all will be good smile

P/s i talk to him sometimes but i dont know much php to admin such a project, im more a designer rather that programmer big_smile
